iCoDaCo Open Studio Cardiff 24/09/2025

£0.00

Open studio invitation to the dance community from Jo Fong, Deborah Light (who joins for her first residency with the Wales Collective) and Anna Seymour.

You are invited to join three dance artists Anna, Deborah and Jo, in morning practice, as they combine their individual movement / artistic practices and approaches into a collective endeavour.

As the Wales Collective they are working within a wider collective of European contemporary dance artists as part of iCoDaCo - International Contemporary Dance Collective.

You will be introduced to the week's research tasks that they are exploring and gain insight into what iCoDaCo is and will be.

Who is this for?

Open Studio is for dance and movement artists and practitioners, and anyone who loves to move, and is curious about collaboration, meetings and sharing practice.

📍 Location: Dance House, NDCW, WMC

📅 Date: Wednesday 24 September

⏰ Time: 10 – 11:30 AM

You’re warmly invited to stay on for a hot drink and further conversation from 11:30 - 12 noon

What is iCoDaCo?

iCoDaCo is a network of 12 collectives working across Europe over 15 residencies spanning two years. Each residency explores different aspects of the creation process in contemporary dance. This groundbreaking research project supports artists in exploring, mapping, and sharing their practice, culminating in an open-access online resource for research and creation for dance-makers.

The initial Wales Collective is Anna, Jo and Gwyn, with some other dance and movement based artists joining for some of the weeks - more on who these are coming soon. Each collective is looked after by a dance company, in Wales this is Jones the Dance.

Supported by Theatr Clwyd, National Dance Company Wales, Theatr Brycheiniog with funding support from Arts Council Wales National Lottery Fund and Wales Arts International.
